How one man’s search for everything only got him nothing.

 

I had delved into the treasure trove; I had obtained its secrets. At that moment, I knew everything that it could ever provide me. It was clever, but It couldn’t hold on forever. I knew that one day it’s secrets would be disclosed to the public. This was my moment of triumph. Ladies and Gentlemen, at this point in time I, Smeags, know all there is to know about Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

There they were: The Events! The Music! The Stages! The Bosses! But there was one thing I wanted, one thing I wanted more than anything else: the unveiling of the hidden characters. And what an unveiling it was! The characters were unique and dripping with potential. Sure, there are some characters that I feel got left behind, and some details that were left out of the overall game plan. But that was the past. This is the future! The future.

The future…

Wait a minute… Today’s January 30. Hold on one second… Super Smash Bros. Brawl comes out in North America March 9.

Oh no.

Oh no oh no oh no. What have I done?! I can’t do this! I know everything! I can’t just go on playing some waiting game for 38 days… wait, make that 39, this year’s a leap year. What am I going to do now? Watch YouTube videos while snacking on Cheez-Its yearning for that glorious day to come? I need action! I need adventure! I need Smash Bros.!

What is the point of knowing everything… when it will mean absolutely nothing for the next month? Sure, I felt like I was king of the world at first, but now… now that I think of it, the surprise is gone, the mystery and the speculation are kaput! Out the window! I’ve tainted the magic of Super Smash Bros. and there is no going back. I know everything… but in all actuality, I really know nothing at all.

So all in all, I think I’ve learned my lesson. Live and learn. That’s life I suppose. In all of this, I think I’ve grown up a little. Yeah, things are definitely looking up. Look out world, cause there’s a new me!

Now if you excuse me, I hear there are some new Mario Kart Wii rumors…
